Citroen DS High Rider concept
Citroën has released the first images of the DS High Rider concept set to be unveiled at the 80th Geneva Motor Show. The second concept associated with Citroën's new DS line, the compact crossover blends the design attributes of a coupe and a compact SUV.
Measuring just 4260mm long, 1820mm wide and 1480mm high, the compact crossover has a muscular aesthetic, expressed by a high waistline and a gently sloping roof line that is coated with a textile material. At the front, gaping air intakes, long incisive headlights and defined ridges along the hood give the vehicle a dynamic DRG. Citroën has yet to provide images of the interior, but the French automaker claims it 'provides occupants with a generous amount of internal space'.
The DS High Rider sources power from a diesel engine working in conjunction with an electric motor located on the rear axle. The hybrid platform enables the concept to combine the fuel efficiency and power of a diesel engine with the ecological benefits of an electric car. Under certain conditions, both engines combine to deliver increased power with additional torque transmitted to the rear wheels.
