Audi A8

Audi revealed the all-new A8 flagship at Design Miami last night, part of the brand's 100th anniversary year celebrations. Made from lightweight aluminum, the exterior design of the new car features progressive design elements - including a coupĂ©-like roofline and the brand's now characteristic ‘tornado' line which separates the DLO from the dynamic, sculptured surfaces - while its single-frame grille has been given a sculptured, three-dimensional look which emphasizes the car's width.
Measuring 5137mm in length, 1949mm in width and 1460mm in height, the new luxury sedan is generously dimensioned and, as expected, significantly exceeds in length and width of its predecessor as well as its competitors. Its height, however, remains below that of its immediate rivals in Germany and its 2992mm wheelbase ensures ample space within its luxuriously-appointed cabin.
Finished to a high standard with craftsman-level workmanship, the interior further reinforces Audi's reputation for quality and ergonomics. Based on a ‘wraparound' theme, the cabin is encircled by a circumferential curve - a theme inspired by luxury yachts. The large curve integrates a sleek and low IP, which features a prominent 8-inch wide screen, while Audi's advanced MMI and HVAC controls have been relocated to the center tunnel, ahead of the asymmetrically-mounted gear selector. In typical Audi tradition, a multitude of interior colors and materials can be specified by the discerning customer as can the optional ambient light package.
